On 30th May, FT held its 3rd Annual Golf Day to raise funds for the Frenkel Topping Charitable Foundation. Attendees were gifted clear skies and sunny spells throughout the day and after bacon butties were served, 23 teams had a shotgun start at the magnificent Nicklaus course in the grounds of Carden Park country estate.
Meanwhile, more than 30 non-golfers got the opportunity to discover the basics of the game as Carden Park’s PGA Academy coaches gave comprehensive golf lessons. After lunch was served, the group split out into two activities; wine tasting and laser clay pigeon shooting. Daredevil shooters had fun taking aim at the clays whilst wine tasters enjoyed a chocolate-paired wine experience including a delightful glass of Bollinger!
All attendees then reunited and, as you cannot have a sporting event without a bit of competition, we awarded winners’ prizes. Best dressed golfer went to Caroline Arrowsmith of Speed Medical, whilst longest drive and closest to the pin were both scooped by FT’s very own Iain Cherry! Overall golf winners were team Slater & Gordon, who also snapped up best shot at the laser clay – a very well done to the extremely competitive Paul Kelly for that win! 2nd place team went to MLA, followed by LIME Solicitors at 3rd place. Best wine taster went to Leanne Devine of Fletchers who we will be turning to for wine recommendations when Prof Dom isn’t available.
As enjoyable an experience as the day was, at its core was of course our Charitable Foundation and our aim to continue to raise both its profile and the funds it has to support vulnerable individuals who’ve sustained a catastrophic injury, without an injury claim to bring. A huge thank you goes to all our sponsors, attendees who bought golf teams or joined us for a non-golf experience, or bought raffle tickets.
Frenkel Topping will be delighted to host this event again in 2025, so whether you got to experience the day or looked on at LinkedIn with FOMO, watch your social feeds and inboxes for details of how you can join us next year.
